Date: 2011 - 2012 Location: Raleigh, NC Size: 61,000 sq ft Team: Duke Realty, BBH-Design, Chambers Design, Inc., Dewberry Engineering, Jacobs Engineering Brier Creek Healthplex is a two-story Core and Shell Development project for a Stand Alone Emergency Department on the first floor and medical office space on the second floor. The architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering is geared to creating a green building, and will be one of the first healthcare projects rated under the new LEED 2009 rating system for Core and Shell. Chambers Design worked in close coordination with all team members to determine LEED credits possible for the project, identify materials and resources with the best green qualities, evaluated energy performance and energy modeling and determined the preliminary water usage for restrooms as well as landscaping.
